An abstract photograph can use color, light, shadow, texture, shape, and form to convey a feeling, sensation, or impression. The photographer sometimes isolates a fragment of a natural scene in order to remove the context. At other times, s/he purposely stages a shot to create a seemingly unreal appearance. Abstractions highlights both approaches.
